swan intarsia swatch

it's been months since i've made anything and i was craving a challenge! also i've been seeing some lovely alpha patterns/color charts on pinterest lately and really wanted to make something with one of them. i was actually considering crocheting it but i have a love/hate relationship with how crochet stitches look so i decided to knit instead and learn a new technique in the process ^^ if you guys aren't familiar with knitting intarsia is basically just a method to create patterns and switch colours in your work.
also Um me being me i love swans (duh your site is called cygnet... shocker really... fork found in kitchen...) so i chose a swan pattern! i love love love how it turned out omg it's so gorgeous and i kind of learned that intarsia or at least intarsia on stockinette stitch isn't really good with curves - hence the "spiky" looking stitches at some parts. i'm just nitpicking though i still love it

the start of a new journey! i've been wanting to learn how to do gel nails for quite some time, but only really got around to it recently. i bought some basic supplies from a friend's sister and got down to work! i didn't quite like the colours she had LOL so i went to buy other more pastel-leaning colours too hehee.

i feel like painting nails is intuitive enough - use a brush and layer the colours on, just as you would with any other kind of paint. i think the real challenge comes with using the right techniques, especially because gel is quite a different medium from acrylic / watercolour etc. but ngl i feel like im limited more by the quality of my materials than my skill rn HAHAHAH my 3d gel kept melting really fast. is that normal? i don't know...

anyways i just made a cute little pastel blue set! my favourite nail is the 3d bear of course. i'm pretty happy with it!
